About 3DRebel
Okay, so you have been creating Poser and Daz content
for years and posting it on Renderosity,
Daz3D, Renderotica and other large 3D content sites; or as a Poser or Daz Studio user, you have been
hopping around these sites looking for resources to create great static art and cool animations, right? The vendors
pass on half of the price to the web sites - (ugh commissions) - and the buyer pays double-bubble for the product.
So what's wrong with this, you ask? Well as a vendor and a buyer, let me explain that it doesn't have to be this
way.
The only reason I cannot sell my poser stuff to you at half the price is that you won't ever find it unless I place
it on one of these successful sites, thus I pay the commissions and think they are doing a great job, until I consider
it properly. What they do is get in the middle. These sites control access to imaginative artists work. There are
thousands of Poser Creators all on their own sites but having to go to the big sites in order to get their stuff
seen. They are subjected to censorship, price-inflating, and - unless you are one of the top sellers - days and
days of waiting before their product is released.
Now don't misunderstand me. I know it takes work, labour, and money to present content of such extent on large
sites. I am not suggesting these sites are getting money for nothing, but I am saying they are inadvertently controlling
the resources available. They do a good job but inadvertently stifle unique creations. So I thought I would try
and make some changes happen... 3D-Rebel?
Here, with your help, we can track down all poser and daz studio content: stuff on the big sites, stuff on individual
creators sites, and we can find all the stuff we need all in one place. No one gets paid here for providing a site
like this, but hey - finally we can get to find all the great creations and resources not posted on the large sites
at the same time as we can see the normal stuff on them. Vendors can push their content here and decide to point
potential buyers to their store fronts on the big sites or to their own smaller stores on their own sites or both.
Buyers might start getting a choice greater than before: this price or that price; this nude stuff you didn't know
existed; this freaky creation too hot for major commercial sites, content too low-priced to stock on big sites...
$1.00 products... why not? Want to buy a 3D gun and not the bullets, belts, holster, saloon, and horse? Why not?
Adult content?! Who decides what is just plain sexy, or themed 'Barbarella-isq' sci-fi, or rude, or lewd? Such
judgement is different for every person. It depends on your culture, your sexual liberty, your sense of freedom
of expression, and many other things too. Renderotica do a great job of picking up the resources too hot for the
other big commercial sites, but there are many resources too hot for the big sites (according to them), but possibly
too dull for Renderotica - or maybe the creator doesn't really want his/her overtly sexual product to be associated
with pornography generally? What a dilemma {sigh!)
So now... here's a place where you the vendor, or you the buyer, can decide what's good and what's not; where to
sell at what price, and where to buy at what price and support. Here's a place for you all and me to build together,
with freedom and choice: not mine - yours! Here's a place to promote your stuff, link to your stores, tell others
what you found, and build a site where everything is found in one place - free of overt commecial control.
Seize the moment... register today... and hang on in there for refreshing change!
